Frequently Asked Questions

How should I prep my home?

Before the day of your session, tidy up the room(s) we'll be taking photos in by stowing away any items that could be distracting in images.

If you'd like some individual images of just your newborn at the session, prior to my arrival I ask that you clear a 10 x 10 foot space in front of the largest or brightest window in your home (sliding glass doors are perfect). As soon as I arrive I'll begin setting up. You may feed your newborn during this time. If you could provide me with a bottle and pacifier, this will help keep the session moving peacefully.

What should I wear?

I like to recommend warm neutrals because they always have a soft, timeless look. Try to avoid large or super busy patterns. Coordinate with your family or partner so that your styles and colors complement each other without being too uniform. And if you plan to hang your photos on a wall in your home, consider choosing colors that work well in that particular space. All clients receive my "Outfit Style Guide" upon booking their session.

How should I prep baby?

I recommend trying to keep your newborn awake for at least two hours beforehand to ensure a sleepier session. The sleepier your newborn is, the more photos we can get in while they snooze.
Immediately before your session, please dress your newborn in a zip or button-up outfit (avoid anything that goes over their head). If you have a special outfit you'd like your baby to wear, please set it out, but don't dress your baby in it—we want to ensure it stays clean before I begin taking photos. I will bring several neutral swaddles & wraps that coordinate well with most family attire.

When will I receive my images?

I typically share a sneak preview on my social channels within a week.
3-4 weeks after the session, I send your edited images through a private online gallery which is available for one calendar year from your date of your session day. You may download your image files, or even order prints directly from your gallery.

Do I have to order prints through you?

While I make it easy to preserve your memories by offering print ordering directly from your gallery, you are by no means required to order through me. Each gallery allows access to download high-resolution files and a print release so that you can print photos through the lab of your choice.
